The maximum frequency of the initial burst increased with increasing concentrations of agonist. By contrast, the frequency of the transients in the steady state showed little dependence on agonist concentration. There were quantitative differences between the responses to arecaidine and carbachol.

Our results suggest a model of cytokine locus activation in which TCR signals initiate chromatin remodeling and locus opening in a cytokine-independent fashion. Subsequently, cytokine signaling reinforces polarization by expanding and maintaining the accessible state at the relevant cytokine locus (IL-4 or IFN-gamma). Compared to younger (< 8 years) individuals, older (> or = 8 years) individuals tend to cover longer distances during play, and to be more likely to play only on sloped surfaces and during travel. For heroin use, the test-based estimate was 2.9 times the rate generated from the interview reports. A shift from the cut-off level of 0.2 ng/mg to 0.5 ng/mg had only a marginal improvement on validity, with sensitivity increasing from 7.1% to 11.1% for self-reported recent cocaine use.CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest that drug users, for the most part, are not willing to disclose their use of drugs in household surveys in Puerto Rico.
